Among intersex, non-binary and transgender people, we can find many famous, controversial and talented personalities – not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. We have listed at least a few of those who we think are worth mentioning. Of course, we couldn't fit a whole bunch of people here. Do you have your favorite stars? Music

We can find many trans* personalities on the music scene, whether they sing, rap, play a musical instrument, or create music.

They include British songwriter and keyboardist Dee Palmer , a former member of Jethro Tull, as well as her colleague, American songwriter Wendy Carlos , who was even the first trans person to win a Grammy. Non-binary American singer-songwriter Janelle Monáe was also nominated, but she has not yet won a Grammy. Others who have never won or been nominated for a Grammy include American intersex singer Ana Roxanne .

Trans* music stars can also be found outside the English-speaking world, including Grammy-winning singer Kim Petras and Cuban rap duo Krudas Cubensi, made up of Odaymara Cuesta and Olivia Prendes .

Literature

There are plenty of trans* people in the world of writing, across genres. For example, among the theatre talents of the new millennium are Travis Alabanza and Eddie Izzard from the UK, and from the world of journalism, it is worth mentioning the American Janet Mock , former editor of People magazine. We must not forget Bogi*ho Takács* from Hungary.

Trans* people also exist in Czech journalism. One of them was the late Tereza Spencerová , who, in addition to journalistic articles and reports, published a book about her transition called I am a trans person!

But we also find people who participated in writing the screenplays for the film. This is also the case with the Americans Lana and Lily Wachowski , the creators of The Matrix .

Film and theater

When we talk about film and theater, we can't just stop at those who write them. Among the actors, we find a number of intersex, non-binary and transgender people.

One of the most famous transgender actresses is probably the American Laverne Cox . Fans of the Pokémon series may know Maddie Blaustein, who voiced the Pokémon Meowth. In the Czech version, she was dubbed by Lucie Brychtová , who is also trans.

But Lucie Brychtová is not alone in her country. In the Czech Republic, other personalities from the world of film and theater include director Daniela Špinar , the historically first female director of drama at the National Theater.

The film also includes pornographic images. Famous trans porn actors include Buck Angel from the USA, who won the Porn Oscar in the category of Best Performance by a Transsexual Actor in 2007. What's more, he was the first trans porn actor to star in a scene with a trans porn actress ( Allana Star ) – and to top it all off, the scene was shot by trans director Gia Darling .

But that's just the beginning! Trans* people are much more active in the art world, both at an amateur and professional level. Unfortunately, there is no verified comprehensive administration of such people from all over the world, but for inspiration you can look at various lists in several language versions on Wikipedia.
